About us
MAX-N acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which it was formed and operates, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.
MAX-N is a boutique Australian clothing brand which formed in 2020. Our range of leggings, shorts, tanks and shirts are ethically made from certified recycled yarn by recycling plastic bottles.
By converting plastic bottles into fabric, this recycling and upcycling process helps reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste, conserves energy, and minimises the need for extracting and processing new raw materials. It showcases the potential for transforming waste into valuable resources, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
Certified fabrics: We use certified recycled fabrics for our range of clothing by suppliers that adhere to the Global Recycle Standard (GRS). The GRS sets the requirements and certification for recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions for our range of clothing ensuring ethical conditions and eco-friendly practices.
Certified dye: Our clothing range uses certified dyes which have a low impact on the environment and are eco-friendly due to their non-toxicity.
Water usage: We know water is a precious resource and have partners that understand this too. We have used as little water as possible for our garments to ensure they have been created in a sustainable way. Our commitment is to continually review our practices to ensure we are using environmentally friendly and sustainable fabrics in our business and supply chains.
MAX-N reduce, reuse and recycle: The constantly changing trends and lack of recycling makes synthetic materials one of the worst environmental pollutants. As a result, MAX-N is a proud supporter of reduce, reuse, recycle and will reuse and recycle any old or unwanted MAX-N clothing through our MAX-N reduce, reuse and recycle initiative. Any old clothing we receive are mechanically shredded and the recycled fiber is spun into yarn. The various yarns then make a variety of recycled products including clothing.
Unified English Braille: We have included Unified English Braille on our clothing to assist people who are blind or have low vision. Unified English Braille is the official braille code for usage in Australia.
Seeing Eye Dog Program: MAX-N is a community supporter for Vision Australia's Seeing Eye Dog Program. We endeavor to raise funding as a community partner and accept donations at our pop-up stores for this amazing initiative. We will continue to support the amazing work done with seeing eye dogs, and to support people who are blind or have low vision.
Biodegradable packaging: MAX-N uses biodegradable packaging (made from corn starch) for our poly bags and biodegradable postage bags. We will continue to review our packaging to minimise any adverse impact on the environment from packaging and materials in our supply chain, to the inclusion of swing tags on our clothing.
MAX-N logo: Our logo represents the wave lines of intersecting battle ropes forming an M for MAX-N. The intersecting battle ropes represent connection, flexibility and strength.
MAX-N is committed to sustainable fashion and developing clothing that is eco-friendly as possible. We welcome all feedback about how we can continue to improve our garments or business to meet future need.
